About
Why KLEIO?
In Greek mythology, Clio (traditionally /ˈklaɪoʊ/, but now more frequently /ˈkliːoʊ/; Greek: Κλειώ, Kleiṓ; “made famous” or “to make famous”), also spelled Kleio, is the muse of history.
About me:
I am an historian by training and an educator and translator by profession. I studied modern European history under Peter Loewenberg at UCLA, writing a biography of the Swiss Protestant pastor and pioneering psychoanalyst Oskar Pfister (1873-1956). I have also researched and written on one of John Steinbeck’s lesser known works entitled, The Moon Is Down.
In addition to my research and publications I have taught history at both the collegiate and secondary levels in the U.S. and in Europe.
For the last twenty years academic translation has been my focus. I have translated articles, books and other academic-related materials from Dutch and/or German into English for dozens of European professors of history and other social scientific disciplines. How can I help you?
